Pony Care Classes
Pony Care Course is a 8 week long course, two sessions per
week, with the next session starting in October. All eight weeks
are available at the discounted rate of $575 which includes a copy
of the book, "Horse & Pony, a Practical Guide to Caring for a Horse
or Pony." Classes will run each Tuesday and Thursday after
school from 4-6pm. Individual weeks can be purchased at a rate of
$40 per class/ $80 per week. Each week students will receive 15
minutes of riding instruction on a horse! Classes will be limited
to 6 students. Students must be at least 7 years old, unless
approved by our instructors.

- Treats! Make a delicious apple & carrot treat for the horses.

Week IV: Tack & Riding Equipment
- Bridles, Bits, Saddles, etc...
- Taking apart and putting together pieces of tack
- Cleaning and caring for equipment
- Tacking up a horse
Week V: The Vet
- Prevention of injuries
- Recognizing an injury
- Shots and vaccines
- Dressing and caring for injuries
Week VI: Anatomy & Its Functions
- Parts of a horse
- Proper movement of a horse
- Observing horse at walk, trot, and canter.
- Balance and center of gravity
Week VII: The Farrier and the Feet
- Farrier tools and equipment
- Trimming
- Hot Shoeing
- Diseases of the feet & Prevention

Week VIII: Fun Day and Pizza Party
